Dear Supporters of The Innocence Mission:
First and foremost, I cannot thank all of you enough for being there for The Innocence Mission this past year. We are quickly approaching our one year anniversary, and we could not have made it without the help and support of you. Thank you!
However, for as much as we have been able to accomplish, we are in somewhat of a crisis. Our first two quarters of 2010 have failed to bring in the funds needed to sustain our work for the rest of the year. As we all know, the economy is still slow to recover, and many non-profits are suffering. Foundations and Grantors have cut back on their giving, and are hesitant to give to any organization that has not been serving for five years or more. Corporations have drastically cut back on corporate giving dollars, and fundraising events prove harder and harder to get community members to attend. As a new non-profit, we are especially affected, so we must reach out and rely on you, our donors and supporters, to see us through this incredibly difficult time.
As you know, The Innocence Mission is dedicated to creating a world where EVERY child's right to sexual innocence is protected and upheld. We have been successful in developing educational programs that bring together leading experts to inform parents and community members on the risks that our children face, and how we can better protect them. Every dollar raised thus far has gone directly towards services and programming to help protect children and to heal and empower victims. I work full time as a volunteer for the organization, and have subsidized much of the work we have accomplished thus far. But I cannot continue to do it alone... we need your help.
In the coming months, we have the opportunity to serve several more communities in California with our film screenings and panel discussions. We have been invited to collaborate with other organizations, as well as policy makers in educational forums. We have had the chance to speak personally with influential leaders and champions of the cause, including legendary journalist Dan Rather, where we hope to be able to work with them in spreading the word and message about Child Sexual Abuse. But without your support, we will be unable to move forward with these programs and goals.
There is no donation too little, and if it is absolutely impossible for you to help us financially, please know that you can help us significantly by spreading the word of our organization to others. A little help can truly go a long way.
I thank you for your time, care, and concern in helping us to end Child Sexual Abuse in America. Your contribution is vital to our work. I am honored to have you as supporter on the road to change.
With Hope,
Elaina Kroll
